1. Dissolve phenylacetic acid in ethanol first
2. Slowly add the thiocyanate and stir the reaction
3. React at an appropriate temperature for several hours to completely convert the reactant
4. Filtration to obtain the solid product of PHENACYL THIOCYANATE
